Mozilla got bashed for taking cryptocurrency donations, but the EFF seemed alright to have received funding from GitCoin / Ethereum Foundation. nothing disclosed on EFF site, only press release by the respective donors. I reached EFF and never heard back 👻
my hypothesis is that the funding source is not that important as long as it supports the charitable mission, it's just that people are already pissed with Mozilla Foundation and took the chance to vent everything when something sketchy comes up
